Jeremiah 30
A reading by Trumpet Sounds

Listen to Jeremiah 30
This chapter headlines a section of Jeremiah's prophecy dealing with the end-times restoration of Israel. The theme statement, pronounced by the Lord of heaven himself, is found in verse 3.

The days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the land I gave their forefathers to possess,' says the LORD. (Jeremiah 30:3 NIV)

In this chapter, Jeremiah describes in graphic terms the "incurable wound" of Israel, the long-festering injuries inflicted by the Lord because of their insistent rebellion against Him.

But this prophecy is not about the wound, it is about God's tender healing process. This message of hope contains Messianic references in verses 9 and 21, describing the Son of David who will be raised up to lead them. This chapter also describes the fate of Israel's enemies, a topic which is certainly relevant today,

You may also wish to read an examination of this chapter that Stan Goodenough and I wrote a few years ago that attempts to debunk the prevalent but incorrect interpretation of "the time of Jacob's trouble" found in verse 7.
